    Exceptional

The owner was very nice and helpful. When we inquired about the walking tours of the city he rang the the man in charge of it straight away to confirm where it started. Overall I was extremely satisfied with the service and the price was didn't seem to affect that. Also as we were travelling by bus it was good that it was only a 5 minute walk fro the bus station. I would definately stay there again.

    Very good

Location of the hotel. Staff were also very friendly and welcoming.

It had few facilities in the room and beds were uncomfortable.

Breakfast and owner was helpful. Shower was powerfull and hot.

Stair carpet was threadbare and a trip hazard. Bathroom area very small and in need of replacement.Bedroom needed complete refurbishment and carpet needed replacing. Room was at front with very noisy road.

The guesthouse was near to the Waterford crystal factory. Also the car park was directly opposite.

The room was dirty: filthy net curtains, stained carpet, mouldy shower tray.

    Superb

The welcome by owner & manager, Michael, was very warm, and he was very pleasant and friendly throughout my stay. The breakfast included in the room rate was very good, this was the cheapest guest house I could find, where the price included breakfast. The location is on the quayside, so very pleasant, and there is a chippy next door, and plenty to do very close by. My room was clean, as was the breakfast room. The Anchorage has had some poor reviews, but I can't fault it on much! Very pleasant

First impressions are a little poor, but that is all they are, and the carpet on the stairs is badly worn, and do with replacing. That's all!

This hotel is dark, smelly filthy and falling apart place. The worst place I have ever stayed in. Room was dark with little high window ovelrooking wall and didn't resemble one at the pictures at all.Carpet was absolutely black from filth, stench smell in the room and corridor, Bed had a broken headboard, but the wost thing ever were long black hair on the sheet which clearly indicated that bed linen wasn't clean, we were so disgusted we ended up sleeping wearing clothes on.It's no way I could stay there longer than one night. It's absolutely below any standard. I have stayed many times in cheap b&b's in Ireland and never had a bad experience. Absolute no go.

    Superb

Very central location, hospitality great. Breakfast very good with nice bright dining room, value for money.

  • 6.2
    Good

It was cheap, good location to shops, restaurants and bars.

It needs a complete revamp. Dirty. The only clean place was the breakfast room

  • 6.2
    Good

The breakfast was good and the location as well.

Het hotel was really noisy. On Saturday night there was a party going on when we wanted to sleep.

  • 9.4
    Exceptional

Room was quiet for sleeping. No noisy people in hall or outside window. It was very convenient and central to shopping, eating and transportation.

Room size was just okay. Wish there had been a chair, but size was a limiting factor.

  • 6.6
    Good

Very friendly staff, tasty breakfast with generous portions, central location, very cheap.

Some rooms definitely need refurbishment - carpets, wall paint, beds looking old and very heavily used. Double glazing/soundproofing rooms near neighbours air conditioning roof unit would be helpful.
